Bank of China (Hong Kong) Limited (BOCHK), a holding subsidiary of Bank of China, took the lead in donating to Hong Kong Red Cross for Sichuan quake relief on May 13, 2008, with amount of HKD 3 million.
Moreover, BOCHK also called on its 13,500 staff to join the donation activity, including those from its subsidiaries, namely Nanyang Commercial Bank Limited (Nanyang), Chiyu Banking Corporation Limited (Chiyu), BOC Credit Card (International) Limited, BOC Group Life Assurance Company Limited and Nanyang Commercial Bank (China) Limited.
Besides the staff donations, BOCHK set up a disaster relief account to facilitate donations made by customers and Hong Kong citizens via nearly 300 branches under BOCHK, Nanyang and Chiyu. All the donations will be delivered to the quake-hit area by Hong Kong Red Cross. Details of the account are as follows:
