BOC Launches Six Measures to Support Quake Relief and Reconstruction Efforts in Ludian

Despite the ruthless earthquake, help would come from all directions when one part of China suffers adversities. Bank of China has launched six major measures to fully support the earthquake and disaster relief efforts in Ludian, Yunnan, and help local people restore normal production and life and rebuild their homes as soon as possible.

- Set up a green payment channel for all types of donations and contributions to the quake-hit Ludian area from all circles of society, and ensure the actual transfer and allocation of financial assistance as required.

- Set up a green donation channel for the quake-hit Ludian area across all the BOC outlets in Yunnan province; exempt the remittance charge on the special donation account for disaster relief purposes; provide appropriate guidance and prompts to clients ready to make donations.

- Strive to meet the financial service demands in the quake-hit area. Properly allocate cash to meet the need of quake-affected people for cash withdrawals; ensure smooth remittance process and timely transfer of funds in the quake-hit area.

- Fully ensure the information security of clients. Swiftly carry out investigation, tracking and confirmation of the financial rights and interests of people in the quake-hit area, properly handle enquiries and verifications by the local people, and protect all kinds of business data and information of clients to ensure information security.

- Enhance credit support to the quake-hit area, and reserve credit quotas to actively support post-disaster reconstruction. Properly deal with loans in the quake-hit area; impose no interest penalty or entry of bad credit records on entities or individuals that fail to repay loans of any type on time due to the earthquake; allow reasonable extension of loans.

- Establish a quick information communication mechanism; maintain an information journal system during the quake relief period; timely understand the financial service needs of the people in the quake-hit area; offer policy consulting and explanations; meet the special demand for financial services in the disaster area.
