The Great Wall debit card of Bank of China (UK) Limited is a local GBP debit card for UK co-issued by Bank of China and Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) . The Great Wall debit card is applicable to the global Visa network, and can be used with ease at millions of ATMs and over 5.6 million merchants with "Visa" logo around the world.
Functions
1. The debit card uses chip and 4-digit personal password;
2. No handling fee is charged for card opening, neither is annual fee;
3. Free cash withdrawal service is available at roughly 50,000 ATMs within UK, with a daily limit of GBP 200;
4. Most British schools can accept tuition fees and relevant charges paid by Great Wall debit card of Bank of China (UK) Limited;
5. The card has payment function for consumption in major shopping malls, supermarkets, restaurants and service stations in UK;

Procedure
Bank of China (UK) Limited has launched "Student Prime" financial services for overseas students in collaboration with domestic branches of Bank of China. By providing passport and other relevant documents, the Chinese students pursuing overseas study can apply for this account as well as the Great Wall debit card with Bank of China's domestic outlets before they go abroad. For eligible application, Bank of China (UK) Limited will handle account opening immediately and make customized chip debit card bearing the customer's name, which normally needs 2-3 weeks. Then, customers can inject funds to the newly-opened "Student Prime" account via remittance. Upon arrival in UK, customers can go to an outlet of Bank of China (UK) Limited to take the Great Wall debit card.
Customers can also go to the outlet counter of Bank of China (UK) Limited after arriving in UK to go through procedures for account opening and application for the Great Wall debit card. The customers need to bring their identity documents (passport) and address document (letter of certification issued by the school) with them for account opening. The debit card can be applied at the same time when the account is opened. The debit card and personal password letter can be posted to the address designated by the customer free of charge.
