Overseas Inward Remittance

Name

Overseas Inward Remittance

Introduction

Overseas relatives and friends remit foreign exchanges into your domestic current all-in-one account of Bank of China.

Features

Your funds can be remitted into the designated domestic account safely and efficiently through the overseas branches of Bank of China, as well as the businesses with banks of various countries.

Process

You should tell your overseas relatives and friends the account number and name of the current all-in-one account you opened at Bank of China, English name of the opening bank and its routing number as payment collection information. After receiving your remittance, the domestic branches of Bank of China will deposit it directly into your account.

Relevant Regulations

All the inward remitted funds in operating stage should comply with relevant regulations of the State Administration of Foreign Exchange

Kind Reminder

1. Why the telegraphic transfer you received is sometimes less than the originally remitted amount?

If there is a reciprocal account between the remitting bank and Bank of China, the payment will reach Bank of China in full amount. However, most of the remitting banks have no account of Bank of China, so the payment must be transferred through one or several intermediary banks to reach Bank of China. Each intermediary bank will deduct a sum of handling charge from the remittance amount while doing the transfer business. Therefore, the telegraphic transfer amount you received may be less than the originally remitted amount.

2. The remittance usually takes three to seven working days.
