Account opening witness service for studying in South Korea

Introduction

To provide more convenience to international students and their parents, Bank of China Seoul Branch presents agency account opening witness service. With the service, Chinese international students can complete account opening procedures before setting out for South Korea, so students will have a safe journey and enjoy more convenience and ease by using the account in their study and life in South Korea.

The service will help you complete account application of Bank of China Seoul Branch and remit tuition fees, living costs and other fund items to the account when you are in China. As a result, you don't have to carry large amounts of cash on your journey. After arriving in South Korea, you can activate the account with Bank of China Seoul Branch with your passport.

Target Customers

1. Applicants shall hold valid passports.

2. Applicants shall have obtained student visa in South Korea.

3. Applicants shall have obtained admission letter of universities or language schools of South Korea

Process

1. Apply to domestic acceptance institutions of Bank of China, fill in relevant forms and submit application documents;

2. The domestic acceptance institutions of Bank of China will witness and verify your passport, valid visa, admission letter and originals of other relevant documents;

3. The domestic acceptance institutions of Bank of China submit the material to Bank of China Seoul Branch for further verification. After two or three working days (of both Chinese party and South Korean party), Bank of China Seoul Branch will notify the domestic branches of Bank of China of the final results. Customers will receive account number and relevant remittance materials with approval of the Seoul Branch.

Please bring the certificates mentioned above to the designated outlets of Bank of China for account opening. For more questions, please consult the local customer service hotline at 95566.

Kind Reminder

1. Customers shall make sure that you will personally go to the outlets of Bank of China Seoul Branch  to "formally use" (activate) your account within three months after arriving in South Korea.

2. In the event that a customer fails to go through procedures of account opening, Bank of China Seoul Branch will cancel account number of the customer; the funds in the account to be canceled will be returned within a period stipulated by the bank, and the customer shall bear all relevant charges.

3. In the event that the customer fails to activate the account in South Korea for any reason after making remittance to the account, the customer shall apply for refund to the domestic branches of Bank of China with the witness service. Bank of China Seoul Branch will return the funds to the account that the customer has specified in the Account Application Form to receive refund after deducting relevant handling fees.
