I. Introduction to Bank of China (Dubai) Branch
In December 2012,Bank of China Group established its first operational subsidiary in the Middle East and North Africa region, Bank of China Middle East (Dubai) Limited (“BOCME”). BOCME is located in the Dubai International Financial Center and holds an offshore banking license as a subsidiary. In 2015, Bank of China (Dubai) Branch was registered to succeed all assets, liabilities and business of BOCME and BOCME was dissolved subsequently. After more than a decade of development, BOC Dubai's operations now cover major countries in the Middle East region, involving various industries such as sovereign wealth funds, infrastructure, oil and gas, petrochemicals, energy and power, aviation logistics, telecommunications, financial institutions, and more.
II. Sustainability Series Bonds
1.BOC Dubai plans to issue its September 2023 Green Bond in the near term. The use of proceeds, project evaluation and selection, management of proceeds, and reporting will follow the Green Bond Principles 2021. All the net proceeds of its Green Bond issuance will be used to fund new or existing green projects. Relevant documents of this issuance are listed below:
