Position Title: Product Manager– Trade Finance Department
Location: Head Office, Markham
Duties and Responsibilities
- Developing and implementing marketing programs, as well as providing effective post call follow-up and ensuring appropriate prioritization to new business/transactions, customer service and cross-sell opportunities.
- Negotiating terms, conditions and documentation with customers, culminating in the closing of transactions either alone or with line management.
- Negotiating pricing arrangements with customers in accordance with Bank policy and pricing guidelines to meet the customers’ need while maximizing profitability.
- Managing all aspects of client relationship, including conducting annual reviews
- Conducting market analysis and identifying business opportunities
- Defining product requirements and developing internal workflows, guidelines, co-ordinating new product approval process
- Managing piloting and product roll-out until expected product benefits are achieved
- Identifying product deficiencies through following up with customer feedback, performing needs analysis and recommending potential product changes/opportunities to Department Head.
- Ensuring that the Bank's interests are protected at all times by strictly adhering to risk management and compliance programs, internal and regulatory guidelines, including Know Your Customer, Anti-Money Laundering, etc
- Achieving individual sales and/or portfolio growth targets, including customer calling targets, annual sales and revenue/portfolio targets.
Job Specification
- Three years or above of relevant work experience in the financial services industry and in Trade Finance related Product Sales, Trade Operations & Services, Credit Risk Management or Relationship Management with client interaction;
- Good knowledge and understanding of Trade Finance Products in particular flow and financing products, trade workflows and financial supply chain processes
- Experience with Trade related Financial Institution teams and product would be an advantage
- Excellent partnering skills and ability to successfully navigate within a complex organisation, build strong relationships, work collaboratively and communicate effectively and concisely with businesses, management teams, other functions and external clients on all levels of seniority
- Good team player with strong interpersonal skills, multicultural understanding and the capability to work with large, remote and cross regional teams
- Effective and concise communicator – both verbal and written, paired with strong presentation skills in English with Mandarin and Cantonese being a big plus
- Ability to effectively manage product performance in the market
- Able to motivate and mobilise resources to perform in the product area
- A university Degree in Business Administration, Accounting ,Finance or Economics
- High degree of proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and applications, including MS Office Suite
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and work accurately within deadlines
- Adaptability and flexibility to deal with a rapidly changing environment
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to think strategically
