Position: Financial Analyst / Assistant Analyst
Superior: Department Head / Deputy Manager / Senior Officer
Responsibilities
1. Strategy
- Study and analyze the macro-economic and financial markets, local and overseas;
- Understand, follow and monitor the key economic indicators to assess economy’s movement such as exchange rates, interest rates, commodities price, monetary policies and fiscal policies built and released by local central bank, as well as regulations adopted by superintendents.
- Follow and monitor peers performance and strategies, local and overseas institutions within Bank of China Group; assist front desk to research market.
- Prepare 3-year rolling strategies annually and report to board of directors
- Review and assess the actual performance against dedicated strategies.
2. Budgeting
- Prepare and review business budget and strategic plans; and, assist management in monitoring its progress;
- Forecast the bank performance monthly
- Prepare periodic performance assessment of the whole ban against budget;
- Analyze the bank’s performance and industries, and compare with peers in the local market.
- Breakdown the bank wide business plan and financial budget by branches and department;
- Report the performance of each branches and business lines to management
- Assess the performance of each branches and departmental against the breakdown business plan and annual financial budget
- Assist HR to design and execute the departmental KPIs.
- Assess and monitor departmental KPI or BSC at least quarterly.
3. Cost and reimbursement
- Build up policies to keep cost under control across bank wide and follow parent bank’s budget.
- Build up expense budget for each branches and department for cost control, and develop new and efficient tools to monitor and constrain the departmental cost.
- Allocate indirect operating cost to each branches or department in bank wide monthly to make it reasonable.
- Review and approve reimbursement claim and classify the expense into correct general legers.
- Review and maintain the cost management policies annually.
- Establish and manage internal expense special account, which is used to control the bank’s expense and payment.
- Sundry expense and interest recording, such as loan loss provision, bank interest income and expense charged and bank fee charged etc.
4. Pricing management
- Maintain and update the bank’s FTP system and keep it going well
- Monitor and update the FTP timely to reflect objectively the bank’s internal cost of funds.
- Call on pricing committee to discus and authorizing exceptional pricing case
- Prepare revenue report monthly to monitor the bank’s Net interest margin and gross margin
- Prepare trade finance average balance report
- Prepare Risk Appetite limit control report to RMD
5. Oversight
- Conduct and review bank reconciliation daily to push font desk to settle discrepancies
Qualification
- University Graduate with three years financial analysis working experience and one year accounting working experience, or one year related working experience for assistant position.
- Sound knowledge and following up the developments in the fields of industrial technology, business, finance, and economic theory.
- Skillful in assembling spreadsheets and draw charts and graphs used to illustrate technical reports, using computer.
- Fluent in English, Mandarin or Cantonese
- Priority to certificate holders such as CFA, FRM, CPA (CA, CMA, CGA) etc.
