Job Title: Treasury Manager

Position Summary
The Treasury Manager will be in charge of the Treasury Department of the Bank of China (Canada) (“the Bank”), and oversees the overall operation of the Treasury Department, including promoting treasury business, managing the Bank’s overall treasury positions & portfolio and monitoring all treasury related risk limitations.
Responsibilities
- Propose and implement plans and strategies to develop treasury business and to achieve business targets
- Develop and enhance policies and guidelines with regard to treasury risk management including liquidity, interest rate, foreign exchange, and securities portfolio etc.
- Manage the bank's overall treasury positions and portfolio and ensure that limits related to treasury risk management are complied with.
- Supervise and or/conduct transactions with customers and banks in foreign exchange, money market, securities and swaps etc. in accordance with the Bank's policies, procedures and guidelines.
- Supervise daily fund taking, fund placing and squaring of FX positions.
- Conduct risks and liabilities management, hedging, gapping and mismatching.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, annual & irregular/exceptional reports, review and forecast, and management reports to senior management of the Bank, the Board of Directors and the Parent Bank.
- Support and coordinate with branches in deposit taking, foreign exchange, long and short term loan finance and remittance business.
- Manage, direct, provide coaching and motivate subordinate staff to carry out the departmental functions.
Job Specifications
- University degree in business, finance or a related field, combined with over 5 years’ experience in treasury business within the Canadian financial services sector.
- Demonstrated leadership, management and marketing skills.
- Excellent research, communication and organizational skills
- Ability and comfort in dealing with all levels of staff within the Bank, as well as with the Board and regulators.
- Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines for multiple projects at the same time.
- Well-developed oversight and the organizational awareness skills.
- Ability to deal with conflicting points of view and to effect creative and responsive solutions
- Good working knowledge of IT applications (e.g. Word, Excel, Access etc)
- Chinese (Mandarin) language competence preferred
