Position Title: Deputy Manager– Risk Management Department
Reporting to: VP-Risk Management Department
Location: Head Office, Markham

Position Summary:
The Deputy Manager of the Risk Management Department will be responsible for credit review and approval, policy development and updates as well as other credit management functions. The individual is also expected to provide a broad range of analytical and research support, especially in risk rating model, credit portfolio stress testing, portfolio management and industry & country risk research. Frequent communication with business unit, the Board of Directors and regulators are required.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Centralized review and approval for the whole Bank’s portfolio, including syndication, commercial loan, commercial mortgage, residential mortgage and trade finance;
- Oversee the validation and effectiveness of the risk rating model, benchmarking with the industry and peers;
- Enhance the credit management for specialized industry, including Oil & Gas, Mining and Real estate construction;
- Lead and conduct the credit stress testing;
- Frequent contact and communication with Senior Management, external auditor, Board of Directors and regulators;
- Other duties as assigned from time to time.
Job Specification
- 6 years or above local commercial credit experience in the field of commercial mortgage, operating line and/or syndication loans;
- Strong knowledge and experience in industries such as Oil & Gas, Mining, real estate will be an asset;
- Relevant post-secondary education with Diploma/Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or Economics;
- Familiar with the OSFI regulation and guidelines on credit risk;
- Independently review, assess and scrutinize Financial and Borrower information in order to develop a strong rationale in the adjudication and/or onward recommendation of credit proposals;
- High degree of proficiency in Microsoft Office Tools and applications, including MS office Suite;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills;
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and work accurately within deadlines;
- Adaptability and flexibility to deal with a rapidly changing environment;
- Accuracy and attention to detail;
