Position Title: Credit Analyst– Risk Management Department

Location: Downtown Toronto

Position Summary:

The Credit Analyst will be responsible for review of corporate/commercial lending transactions and to provide a broad range of analytical and research support to the risk management department, especially in risk rating model, credit portfolio stress testing, portfolio management and industry & country risk research.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review new/annual review proposals for corporate/commercial lending transactions and prepare Due Diligence Report
  • Oversee the effective Monitoring of the Portfolio through the use of individual assessments and  through internal and external reporting.
  • Contribute to and in assigned cases lead new departmental Projects, policy and guideline development, risk rating model maintenance and credit stress testing.
  • Participate in and conduct Assigned Research on Borrower, Portfolio and Economic Topics.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of complete and accurate credit and security records.
  • Use the relevant information to test covenants, margin and financial ratio requirements and promptly report out of order or non-compliant situations of assigned accounts.
  • Control and follow up credit excess, out of covenant or short margin conditions with business units in order to bring the account into order as soon as possible and/or prepare/ recommend Application for Temporary Excess/Out of Order Position.
  • Recognize and monitor weakening situations and report to the Manager of RMD.
  • Other duties as assigned from time to time. 

Job Specification

  • 5 year or above local commercial credit experiencing in the field of credit lending;
  • Relevant post-secondary education with Diploma/Degree in Business Administration, Accounting ,Finance or Economics;
  • High degree of proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and applications, including MS Office Suite
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and work accurately within deadlines
  • Adaptability and flexibility to deal with a rapidly changing environment
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
