Job Title: Credit Analyst

Dept./Division: Risk Management Department

Function: Retail Lending Adjudicator

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Independently review credit applications and consulting with front line to ensure that all important client information is obtained.
  • Based on a range of qualitative and quantitative factors, assess key risk factors , apply the appropriate risk models, negotiate/recommend terms and conditions for credit approval .
  • recommend decisions and when within credit approval authorization, make decisions on retail credit applications.
  • Co-ordinate and monitor the quality of credit submissions, ensuring timely and accurate submission of all retail credit report.
  • Keeps informed of and be willing to implement service improvements, new concepts, credit systems that will improve the operating efficiency.
  • Consider, recommend and when appropriate, implement efficiencies and improved systems and processes.
  • Maintain current awareness of regulatory changes and advances in credit risk management practices, to ensure analytical models and methodologies are consistent with industry best practices.
  • Identify and present opportunities for improvements to risk policies based on changing trends. Make recommendations to management on risk management strategies to protect the Bank’s overall credit lending structure and portfolio.
  • Arrange for maintenance and liquidation of delinquent properties.

Organization Competencies

  • Familiar with the OSFI regulation and guidelines on credit risk
  • Ability to demonstrate integrity, credibility, confidentiality and responsibility.
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skill
  • Stay abreast of any updates of the industry, demonstrates the ability to receive and understand information.
  • Excellent communication skills in both verbally and in writing when interacting with others.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team and manage multiple priorities and timelines
  • High degree of proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and applications, including MS Office Suite.
