Position Title: Credit Specialist - Vancouver Branch

Position Summary:
The Credit Specialist works as a member of the Business Development Team of the Branch with an emphasis on, residential mortgage, commercial mortgage and other commercial lending. The successful candidate must be fluent in spoken and written in Chinese and English. The role is actively engaged supporting Manager, Account Manager and or Assistant Account Manager grow their credit opportunities while also ensuring appropriate oversight of their existing credit book building and maintaining existing business relationships.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Support new credit and or annual review requests in partnership with Account Manager or Assistant Account Manager. This will include analyzing and understanding client financial information and assessing its relative strength against the credit request.
- This will also include confirming and/or recommending an appropriate lending facility and security structure to support for the proposed credit request. For more complex situations this may involve direct communication with the client and/or their professional advisors to ensure an appropriate understanding of their information and what is being requested. The Credit Specialist role may be involved with collecting information for preparing the credit application, partnering with risk management adjudication assessing credit risk, helping with and/or creating loan documentation.
- Help manage the existing retail and or commercial credit book with particular focus managing expiries in the credit portfolio. This will include identifying expiries ahead of time and working with the Account Managers to ensure appropriate information is attained, conducting annual review timely and inputting credits directly into system, partnering with risk management adjudication assessing credit risk, helping with and/or creating loan documentation.
- Provide input to maintain up-to-date file on client , including conducting annual reviews to the accounts under managed and the accounts portfolio that has been assigned.
- Closely engage into the product development process in collaboration with other team members and cross functional teams
Job Specification
- 1 years or above commercial credit experiencing in the field of retail lending, commercial lending, real estate, commercial mortgage is an asset
- Relevant post-secondary education with Diploma/Degree in Business Administration, Accounting ,Finance or Economics;
- High degree of proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and applications, including MS Office Suite
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and work accurately within deadlines
- Adaptability and flexibility to deal with a rapidly changing environment
- Accuracy and attention to detail
