On 11th January, the President of Bank of China Group Mr. Hui Zhang was invited to attend the 4th UK-China Financial Services Summit held in Beijing, which is one of the important activities of the 11th UK-China Economic and Financial Dialogue, accompanied by General Manager of Bank of China London Branch Mr. Wenjian Fang also attended the summit.
President Zhang delivered a speech on promoting investment and innovation cooperation between China and the UK, stating that China’s financial sector is currently advancing the “five major tasks” to help foster and strengthen new productive forces, and make significant contributions to deepening technological innovation and investment cooperation between China and the UK. Looking ahead, the two sides need to further strengthen financial support to provide financing services for enterprises to “Go Global”, enhancing innovative development and deepening financial technology cooperation to realise the advantages of our complementarity.
President Zhang highlighted that Bank of China has been deeply rooted in the UK for 95 years and was the first Chinese bank to set up an overseas representative office in London. Bank of China’s London Branch has long served as the Chair Member of the China Chamber of Commerce in the UK, witnessing, participating in, and driving China-UK economic, trade, and financial cooperation. The Bank of China Group will continuously consolidate its globalised and integrated advantages to act as a key link and bridge in China-UK economic, trade, and financial cooperation, helping take innovation and investment collaboration to a new level and achieve new progress.
