On 25 March, Bank of China, in collaboration with the British Embassy in China and the City of London, jointly hosted a seminar on nature-related financial disclosure practices at the Bank of China Head Office Building in Beijing.
Wu Jian, Executive Vice President of Bank of China, and Dame Susan Langley, Lady Mayor of the City of London, attended the event and delivered remarks. Representatives from government authorities, financial institutions and academic organisations from both China and the United Kingdom participated in the seminar, exchanging views and building consensus on topics including the identification, management and disclosure of nature related financial risks.
During the seminar, participants engaged in in-depth discussions on the global trends and implementation progress of the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD), as well as methodologies, tools and practical applications tailored to the Chinese context. The event also provided a platform for Chinese and UK financial institutions to share experiences, as well as to explore challenges and opportunities in advancing nature-related information disclosure.
Bank of China has long maintained strong and stable cooperation with UK partners in the field of green finance. As the first Chinese financial institution to officially join the TNFD, and as the Chinese co-lead institution of the China–UK Nature and Biodiversity Finance Workstream, Bank of China continues to play an active role in promoting international collaboration on sustainable finance.ell as methodologies, tools and practical applications
