Service Description
For beneficiaries holding a Letter of Guarantee or Standby Letter of Credit (hereinafter referred to as “LG/SBLC”) issued by Bank of China, London Branch OR Bank of China (UK) Limited, in letter form, we offer authentication services.
Authentication Request Method
The beneficiary should request their bank to send an authenticated SWIFT message to our bank requesting authentication of the LG/SBLC. Our SWIFT CODE is:
- BKCHGB2L for LG/SBLC issued by Bank of China, London Branch.
OR
- BKCHGB2U for LG/SBLC issued by Bank of China (UK) Limited
The SWIFT message from beneficiary’s bank should include the following details of the LG/SBLC to be authenticated:
- The LG/SBLC reference number,
- Name of LG/SBLC issuing institution,
- LG/SBLC Currency and Amount,
- Name and address of Applicant as stated on the LG/SBLC
- Name and address of Beneficiary as stated on the LG/SBLC
- Number of pages of the LG/SBLC, and
- Expiry date of the LG/SBLC
The SWIFT request from the beneficiary’s bank must be marked, ATTENTION: GUARANTEES TEAM.
Please note
Providing sufficient information will facilitate the authenticity verification process.Our bank only accepts LG/SBLC authentication service sent via an SWIFT message from the beneficiary's bank, and our bank will respond only via an authenticated SWIFT message.
Our bank WILL NOT conduct LG/SBLC authenticity verification orally or via email.
