Pursuant to the Licence granted by BMA, and after 2 months' intensive preparation, the Bank of China Bahrain Representative Office opened on 1st of July in Diplomatic Area, Manama.
The Bank of China Bahrain Representative Office is the first venture in the Middle East by a Chinese bank.
"We are here to provide general assistance to customers in Bahrain and the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region and promote banking business and investment opportunities between China and the region" said Mr. Guo Jingsi, Chief Representative of the Office.
"The Middle East Market is a new concept to us" added Mr. Guo, "we plan to study the market and will investigate the possibility and feasibility to upgrade our licence into an OBU licence in the years to come"
Located in Flat 152, Al Jasrah Tower Diplomatic Area, Manama, the Office opens 8:00 to 16:00 from Sunday to Thursday, and contact numbers are as follows:
