The Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) has developed the Common Reporting Standard (CRS) for the Automatic Exchange of Financial Account Information (AEOI). Participating jurisdictions implement the CRS under local law. The Law No.5/2017 “Legal Regime for the Exchange of Tax Information” and Chief Executive Resolution No.211/2017 Approving “The Common Reporting Standard and Due Diligence Procedures for Financial Account Information” were enacted on 3rd June 2017 and 1st July 2017 respectively in Macau. The Bank is required to undertake due diligence procedures to identify tax residency and collect related information. If your accounts were established and haven’t yet been closed on or before 30th June 2017, The Bank is hereby writing to solicit your assistance in providing us your information and signing the statement on or before 27th June 2019 to ensure compliance with the regulatory requirements.

For individual customers, please fill the “Self-Certification Form – Individual”, and for entity customers and controlling persons, then please fill the “Self-Certification Form – Entity” and “Self-Certification Form – Controlling Person” (if applicable). Please return the signed forms together with your latest address proof document (if any) and the copy of identification document (if any) by post to G.P.O Box 447or in person at BOC Macau branch, any sub-branches or directly to your relationship manager.

If we don’t receive a response, we will use the information we already have in our records to determine whether you are a tax resident outside Macau and report to Macao Financial Services Bureau as required by the regulatory requirements.
