As to the celebration of the 8th Anniversary of the establishment of MSAR and the up-coming 2008 Olympic Games, Bank of China Macau Branch and CTM jointly launched the New iT's Mobile Banking Services. A ceremony was held on 3rdJanuary 2008 afternoon at the 33rd floor of the Bank of China Building.
Mr. Lai Chankeong, Deputy General Manager of Bank of China Macau Branch, said in the speech of the launching ceremony, "Information technology progresses, like the Chinese saying, 'in the speed of thousand miles a day', mobile communication has entered the new 3G generation. In the meantime, Bank of China Macau Branch, moving ahead and in co-operation with CTM, are pleased to introduce the New iT's Mobile Banking Service. From now on, our customers may have access to our financial management and investment service more easily with their mobile phones through CTM WeWAP mobile internet. I believe, this new technology will bring about a brand new experience, and will be welcome and widely used by our customers."
Following the rapid growth of information technology and mobile communication technology, mobile phone is considered a necessity by a lot of people, to improve the quality of life through which to facilitate banking transactions, investment activities, bill payments, fund transfers or investment. As a joint initiative of Bank of China Macau Branch and CTM, the New iT's Mobile Banking Service enables customers to fully enjoy the convenience of performing banking transactions and investment activities through CTM WeWap mobile Internet portal (2G or 3G) at any time. All customers who activate the “iT’s Mobile Banking” Services from Bank of China Macau Branch can use their mobile phone to self-apply the service via CTM WeWAP mobile internet for instant use without the need to approach to the bank.
