Rules of the Race
1. Race day check-in time and place: At the Praca da Amizade from 7:15 a.m. to 7:45 a.m.. Runners not showing up for check-in shall be deemed to have given up the right to participate. Race number should be pinned in the front of your shirt.
2. There is personal belongings storage service at Praca da Amizade. Present you Race Number to collect your belongings after the Race. Please keep valuable items yourself. Bank of China Macau Branch will not be responsible for the loss of any items.
3. The top 3 winners of each division in Joyous Run – BOC Climbing Stairs for Charity 2012 will have the pole positions.
4. Result of the Race will be posted at Praca da Amizade at around 9:20 a.m.. Winners should wait at the winners waiting area at Praca da Amizade. Your race number will be your identity proof. Winners who do not check-in to the winners waiting area on time will have their prizes collected by a representative and may claim your prizes at the prize collection area after the prize giving ceremony.
5. Appeals will only be considered if it is submitted in writing within 30 minutes after the Race and an appeal fee of MOP500 has been paid. Appeal fee will be refunded if such appeal has been successful.
6. Prize giving ceremony will be held in front of Bank of China Building at 9:30 a.m.. All runners welcome.
7. The entrance to the stairs of Bank of China Building will be closed at 9 a.m. (i.e. one hour after the Race started).
8. There will be 2 water stations along the course located separately at the corner of Rua 25 de Abril opposite to Legislative Assembly and at the corner right in front of the entrance to the staircase of Bank of China Building. The water station of the finishing line is located at the entrance hall of Bank of China Building. No water station in the multi-function room will be set up at 33/F.
9. Since the staircase of Bank of China Building is narrow, runners should keep to the side of the hand rails and not to run in the middle of the stairs. Do not push, pull, bump or block runners coming up behind you.
10. Runner may pass other runners from the other side of staircase without the hand rail when it is safe to do so. No two runners should run side by side at anytime on the stairway to block other runners. Race officials will keep track of the race. Breaching of these race rules will result in disqualification.
11. Runners not feeling well while climbing up the stairs should inform the race officials near by to call for medical assistance as quickly as possible. In this case, if further medication treatment is required, you will be allowed to leave by the emergency exit which is opened for urgent medical attendance purposes only. Other runners who want to withdraw from the race will not be allowed to leave by the emergency exit and have to wait at somewhere not blocking the other upcoming runners. Race officials will show you the way out after the Race.
12. Runners crossing the finishing line (the multi-function room located at 33/F of Bank of China Building) may present your race number to get a gift coupon and then leave the multifunction room as soon as possible following the instruction of the race officials.
13. Runners may redeem a souvenir with the gift coupon at the entrance hall of Bank of China Building.
14. Athletes should conduct your own body check and any necessary pre-race training. The race course is 5000 meters in length and includes 735 steps in the staircase of the Bank of China Building. You must be in top physical condition to finish the climbing. We will strive to keep the athletes safe. However, as a race organizer, we shall be held responsible if there is any accident occurs.
