Singapore Deposit Insurance Scheme


 

The Singapore Deposit Insurance Corporation (SDIC) is empowered by the Deposit Insurance and Policy Owners’ Protection Schemes Act to administer the Deposit Insurance (DI) Scheme. The DI Scheme protects customer deposits with a DI Scheme member in the event a member fails. Bank of China Limited Singapore Branch is one of the Deposit Insurance (DI) Scheme members. Singapore dollar deposits of non-bank depositors are insured by SDIC, for up to S$100,000 in aggregate per depositor per Scheme member by law. Foreign currency deposits, dual currency investments, structured deposits and other investment products are not insured.

List of insured deposits(Effective from 31 October 2022)

The following deposit accounts are eligible for deposit insurance coverage under the Deposit Insurance and Policy Owners’ Protection Schemes Act 2011. Any Singapore dollar deposit in the list held by an individual or a non-bank corporation will be insured up to the limits specified in the Act.
