We will be implementing additional security measures to enhance the security of card transactions to be made on your BOC Credit Card(s) (your “Card”). These measures seek to protect you from any potential fraudulent activity and identity theft when your Card is being used for payment including online purchases made on e-commerce websites.
1．Instituting the One-Time Password (OTP) for Online Purchases
With effect from the 4th quarter of 2010, you are required to enter an OTP sent to you via SMS on your mobile when making online purchases with your Card. In order for you to receive the OTP via SMS, please provide us with your latest mobile number.
2．Migration to EMV Smart Chip Cards
We are progressively replacing all BOC Credit Cards with EMV Smart Chip Cards. The EMV Smart Chip embedded on your Card seeks to prevent fraudulent activities such as cloning of the data encoded on the magnetic strip.
In our continuing effort to optimize service and operational support to you, your information and data that we may obtain from third parties such as any credit bureau recognized by the Monetary Authority of Singapore may be further disclosed to third parties (including affiliate and/or external companies) as we deemed fit and proper. We are committed to maintaining total security and privacy with respect to all customer information and data obtained from any credit bureau and ensuring that the parties we may further disclose those customer information and data to have strict obligations to keep such customer information and data confidential.
