Bank of China sponsored the Chinese New Year Celebration 2011


 

On the 6th February 2011, thousands of people gathered in Trafalgar Square to celebrate the Chinese New Year and welcome the Year of Rabbit. Boris Johnson, Mayor of London, used video to say that the Annual Chinese Year Celebration in Trafalgar Square is one of the most popular and convivial event in London as well as it exposes the unique culture of China to the UK. Bank of China London Branch has sponsored the Chinese New Year Celebration in Trafalgar Square for 11 years.

In the event, Chinese Ambassador to the UK Mr LIU Xiaoming, deputy Mayor of London Richard Barnes and other host all greeted and sent their best wishes to all the Chinese in the UK and overseas Chinese. Andy Qian, from Chinatown Branch, dressed up as Money God to send red bags to guests and visitors to Trafalgar Square during the celebration. Whereafter, the Chinese artists perform the traditional Chinese dancing, drums, gongs and cymbals that accompany the Lions. The event lasted for at least 6 hours, and there are probably 500,000 people took apart in this event.
