On 6th February, the Bank supported the long-standing London Chinese New Year celebration for the 21st time. Mr. Fang Wenjian, the General Manager of Bank of China Limited London Branch and CEO of Bank of China (UK) Limited sent New Year greetings to all the audiences.
Due to the ongoing pandemic, this year's London Chinese New Year celebrations combined "offline cultural experience” and “online program ". The 90 minutes “2022 Chinese New Year UK special” online program broadcasted on 6 TV stations and 6 social media platforms, which included London Live TV, Sky, Virgin Media, youtube, etc. Trafalgar Square been lit up red on 31st of January for the Chinese new year of the tiger.

With the four seasons of "spring, summer, autumn and winter" as the clue, the online special program, respectively presented four major themes: the connection between Chinese culture and nature, creative performances of Traditional Chinese culture, the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Ambassadorial diplomatic relations between China and the UK, and the Beijing Winter Olympics.

Queen Elizabeth II, Mayor of London Sadiq Khan all sent congratulatory messages to the celebration.
London Chinese New Year celebration used to be the largest spring festival celebration outside Asia. Before the epidemic, every year more than 700,000 people would be attracted by the performances, food stalls and decorations at London Chinatown and Trafalgar Square, and it was one of the premier multicultural event in London.
