London Branch supports the 21st Chinese Bridge Competition


 

On 27th June, the 21th Chinese Bridge Chinese Proficiency Competition UK Regional Final was held in London. The event was broadcast live on YouTube and Zoom, attracted nearly 1,000 audiences both online and offline.

Chinese Ambassador to the UK Zheng Zeguang delivered the speech. Mme Xiao Liang, representative of China Chamber of Commerce in the UK, Deputy General Manager to the Bank of China London Branch, also gave her remark in the opening ceremony.

Ten contestants from eight universities across the UK competed in the final of the day. They tell stories about their lives, share stories about learning Chinese, and express their love for Chinese culture. Chinese Bridge Chinese Proficiency Competition has become an important platform for international college students to learn more about the Chinese language and culture. It is also a bridge of understanding that links China to young people worldwide.

This is the 11th year that London Branch sponsored the event. Fulfilling the BOC group’s mission to bridge China and the world for the common good, London Branch will continue to spare no effort to fulfill corporate social responsibilities, promote Chinese culture overseas. Over the years, the bank has also paid attention to the future career development of the contestants, providing internship and job opportunities for them, facilitating the China-UK cultural and people exchanges.
