On 2nd November 2022, Bank of China London Branch sponsored the 5th “China-UK Economic and Trade Forum”. The event was organised by the China Chamber of Commerce in the UK (CCCUK), with special support from the Chinese Embassy in the UK. It was the first in-person China-UK exchange since the pandemic, with the support of a number of local mainstream business associations, including China-Britain Business Council (CBBC), the 48 Group Club, CBI, GBCC, the City of London Corporation, BCCC, and IoD.

With the theme of "China's New Journey World’s New Opportunities", this year’s China-UK Economic and Trade Forum brought together over 300 Chinese and British dignitaries and business representatives to discuss and explore opportunities for co-operation, helping the Chinese and British business communities gain a deeper understanding of China's development strategies in the new era, strengthen pragmatic economic and trade exchanges between China and the UK, and achieve mutual benefits and win-win development.
The Chinese Ambassador to the UK, H.E. Zheng Zeguang, the Chairman of the CCCUK and General Manager of the Bank of China London Branch, Mr Fang Wenjian, the Chairman of the CBBC and Global Head of Public Affairs at HSBC Group, Sir Sherard Cowper-Coles, the Chairman of the 48 Group Club, Stephen Perry and 15 other senior political, academic and business leaders attended the event to share their insights.
The forum came to a successful conclusion in a warm atmosphere, with the participants expressing their commitment in continuing to work together to promote a mutually beneficial cooperation between China and the UK and to grasp the new opportunity for further collaborations.?
