The Banker, one of the leading international financial magazines, published the result of Deals of The Year 2004 in its February issue. BOC International Holdings Limited (BOCI) and Credit Suisse First Boston (CSFB) were awarded "Deal of The Year 2004 in China".
As the investment banking arm of Bank of China Group, BOCI, together with CSFB, acted as the joint global coordinators and joint book-runners for the Sinotrans IPO in Hong Kong in 2003. Despite the sluggishness of the whole market at that time, BOCI exerted great influence for the successful IPO for Sinotrans in February 2003 on Hong Kong Stock Exchange. Therefore, The Banker magazine granted the award to BOCI.
A joint lead underwriter for four of the seven largest IPO projects in Hong Kong market in 2003, BOCI overfulfilled the task and made an impressive profit in 2003.
