经中国政府批准，中国银行整体改建（以下称"改制"）为中国银行股份有限公司（以下称"股份公司"），并于2004年8月26日依法成立。
中国银行股份有限公司自成立之日起，将完整承继中国银行的资产、负债和所有业务。股份公司将继续从事原经营范围和业务许可文件上批准/核准的业务。中国银行已有的营业机构、商号、商标、互联网域名和咨询服务电话等保持不变，由中国银行股份有限公司继续使用，各项业务照常进行。客户毋需因改制而办理变更手续。

With the approval of the Chinese Government, Bank of China is hereby converted in its entirety to Bank of China Limited, and is legally incorporated on August 26, 2004.
Upon incorporation, Bank of China Limited shall fully assume all the assets, liabilities and businesses of Bank of China. Bank of China Limited shall continue the business operations of Bank of China in accordance with the approved/permitted scope of business set out in its business license and other licenses originally held by Bank of China. The business operations, trade names, trademarks, domain names and service hotlines of Bank of China shall remain unchanged and continue to be used by Bank of China Limited. The business operations shall be carried on and there is no need for its customers to undergo any change in formalities.
