On December 5, Bank of China’s spokesman Wang Zhaowen issued statement on relevant issues. He first expressed gratitude for the attention of domestic and overseas media to the joint-stock reform of the Bank. He said that the rumors by some media in recent days on the latest progress of the Bank’s introduction of strategic investors and the establishment of private bank were not true. The Bank’s introduction of strategic investors was to be approved by relevant authrity. Once approved, Bank of China will disclose the information to the media in a timely manner. Friendly and equal negotiation was being conducted regarding the cooperation between the Bank and the strategic investors, and currently there was no information needs to be disclosed to the media.
