On July 3 and 4, Chairman Xiao Gang inspected Shanghai Branch on Olympic financial service preparation. Accompanying the inspection are Yue Yi, global head of Personal Banking Sector, and persons-in-chief from the Office, Olympic Affairs Office, Bankcard Center, Security Department, IT Department, Information Center, and Receipt-Payment Center of BOC head office.
On July 3, the group visited Shanghai stadium (the Olympic venue), and held discussion on BOC game-time financial service with Yuchen, director general of Shanghai Sports Bureau. In the afternoon, Chairman Xiao heard reports by Shanghai Branch on business operation and Olympic financial service preparation during first half of the year. He pointed out that Olympic financial service is a great event with political significance which allows no mistakes. While making persistent efforts in preparation of personnel, financing and logistics, Shanghai Branch should establish emergency command mechanism in the hope of prompt settlement of possible contingencies. After the meeting, the group inspected the outlets around the Olympic venue.
During the trip, Chairman Xiao inspected Zhangjiang Information Center and heard reports on Olympic Safeguard Preparation by Huadong Information Center, Software Center (Shanghai) and Testing Center (Shanghai) respectively. The group also visited the Monitoring Center, Private Banking Department (Shanghai), Banking Department of Shanghai Branch, as well as BOC International Investment Managers and BOC History Museum ( Shanghai Branch).
