On May 12, The Bank of China FIG 2008 World Cup Gymnastics made its grand opening at Tianjin Stadium. Accompanied by President Che Deyu of Tianjin Branch, Zhang Yanlin, Vice President of BOC Head Office and Xu Chen, General Manager of Olympic Affairs Office, presented the prizes to winners at Tianjin Olympic Center on the final day.
The final was hold at 2:00 p.m., May 15th. A total of 241 athletes and coaches from 28 countries and regions attended the competition at China Tianjin stop, making it the largest scale international gymnastics event staged in Tianjin before the Olympics.
As title sponsor of the event, Bank of China made specific arrangement in marketing and promoting its brand image as official Olympic partner. The Bank coordinated with several media such as CCTV, Sohu.com, Tianjin Daily, and China Daily to make wide and in-depth coverage during the event. Besides, it launched advertisement inside and outside the venue, and distributed cheering flags to the audience for a more passionate atmosphere.
After the awarding ceremony, President Zhang and Mr. Xu made a visit on Aocheng Sub-branch and licensed Olympic products flagship store, and heard the report on Olympic financial services by Tianjin Branch.
