On May 7, The Olympic flame continued its journey in Guangzhou, the capital city of Guangdong province. Starting in Guangzhou International Convention Center and ending in Guangzhou Tianhe Sports Complex, the flame passed 16 outlets of Bank of China Guangdong Branch. Guangdong Branch made a full preparation from security, outlets decoration to volunteers organizing to ensure the smooth operation of torch relay.
The torchbearers representing Bank of China in Guangzhou were Chen Siqing, President of BOC Guangdong Branch, Zhang Yudong from DongFeng Peugeot Citroen Auto Finance Company Ltd. and Li Wenzhong from China Southern Power Co.Ltd. When the Olympic flame reached the core area of Guangzhou, over four hundred staff of BOC Guangdong Branch who had already waited for hours got quite excited. They warmly greeted the arrival of flame and cheered for the 183rd torchbearer Chen Siqing, who conveyed the spirit of pursuing excellence on behalf of BOC staff. Every member of the cheering squad was deeply affected by the jubilant atmosphere.
