In reply to the communications jam of Olympic ticketing system in the second phase on October 30, BOC’s spokesman Mr. Wang Zhaowen said on the very day that Bank of China had conducted careful examination on all the systems and networks under its jurisdiction. So far no problem was detected with the Bank’s Olympic ticketing system and network.
Starting from 9:00 a.m. October 30th, BOCOG’s ticketing system was encountered with communications jam. In the face of such problem, Bank of China immediately got into contact with BOCOG. Mr. Wang said, “Bank of China will continue to notify the latest situation to the public and our customers in time. We hereby apologize for any inconvenience experienced by the applicants in the process of queuing and waiting.”
Domestic Olympic Ticket Sales in the second phase was officially kicked off at 9:00 on October 30, 2007. The designated 1,001 BOC outlets around the country were ready to provide ticketing service to the public. According to BOCOG, during phase two, Olympic tickets are sold on a real-time basis. BOC staff will log on BOCOG’s ticketing system for on-line ticket selling, and the system will allocate the tickets automatically under the principle of “first-come, first-served”.
Mr. Wang mentioned that Bank of China attached great importance to the success of ticket sales in the second phase Phase. Careful preparation was carried out together with BOCOG and the exclusive ticketing service supplier, and several training and testing had been conducted on the designated 1,001 outlets.
At last, he expressed heartfelt thanks to the public for their trust, understanding and support to Bank of China. BOC will do its best to assist BOCOG on ticket sales with its quality service.
