As Beijing 2008 Olympic tickets officially went on sale on April 15th 2007，Bank of China, the ticketing distributor, kicked of its ticket selling business.
Bank of China, boasting an extensive network of outlets nationwide, is committed to offering fair and convenient way for the public to purchase Olympic tickets. All of the bank’s outlets, over 100,000 in number, will provide Application Form and Guide Brochure to the public, of which 1,000 designated Olympic Ticket Outlets (hereafter referred to as OTOs) throughout the country will collect the Application Form once they are filled out.
According to BOCOG, public ticket sale will undergo three phases. During Phase One, the 1,000 OTOs will hand out and collect paper Application Form. During Phase Two, the OTOs will sell tickets and collect payment through BOCOG’s ticketing system on a real-time basis. During Phase Three, in addition to the real-time ticket selling, the OTOs will also take on the responsibility of handing out souvenir tickets. Accepted payment methods during Phase One are Visa cards and Bank of China savings accounts, which will be extended to include cash during later ticketing phases.
Bank of China has worked out detailed service standards and strict internal control rules to ensure the high-quality services for ticket purchasers.
