Bank of China Took Part in Club Event

2005-04-15

On April 15, BOCOG held an event of Beijing 2008 Olympic Games Partner Club. Bank of China as well as other Club members took part in the event, which was undertaken by Club member Lenovo Group, also a Worldwide Olympic Partner of the International Olympic Committee.

BOCOG marketing department briefed the members on its latest marketing activities as well as arrangements in the near future. Lenovo Group introduced to fellow members its Olympic marketing strategy, which was followed by a warm discussion concerning Olympic branding and marketing strategy. During the discussion, Bank of China and other Club members exchanged and shared successful experiences and strategy concepts in Olympic branding and marketing, thus creating valuable opportunities for partners to cooperate in their respective fields and their mutual  Olympic marketing. Club members also visited Lenovo’s factory, exhibit hall and call center, which greatly enhanced the mutual understanding between the partners.

The partner club, formed on Feb.2, 2005 and the first attempt in Olympic sponsorship, was initiated and organized by the marketing department of BOCOG. The Club aims at providing an exchange platform for partners and becoming an information sharing channel between partner and BOCOG as well as between partners, so as to eventually maximize the marketing returns of the partners. Meanwhile, the Club could also be deemed as an honorable treatment offered to the partners.

Currently, the Club includes seven BOCOG partners: Bank of China, China Network Communications Group, China Petrochemical Corporation, China Mobile Communications Corporation, Volkswagen Group China, Adidas Greater China, Air China Limited as well as the eleven IOC’s TOP VI partners: Coca-Cola, Atos Origin, General Electric, Kodak, Lenovo, John Hancock, McDonald’s, Omega, Panasonic, Samsung and Visa. In addition, new partners of Beijing 2008 Olympic Games will also join the Club.

It is known that Beijing 2008 Olympic Games Partner Club is to hold a few events attended by executives of all its members. It also plans to organize regular workshops for the club members between 2005 and 2008.
