Bank of China won the award of "Best Bank in China 2011" by Euromoney, the world famous professional magazine. This is also the 9th of such award it has received since 1993.
The award symbolizes that Bank of China is highly recognized by the international banking community for its outstanding performance in the past year.
The reasons that Euromoney issued such award to Bank of China include: Bank of China had an outstanding year in 2010 with continuous business growth while accelerating the internationalization process. Its overseas assets accounted for 21.5% of the total assets and overseas profits outpaced its Chinese counterparts. As of 2010, the bank added 13 overseas branches to its entire organization. All of these have strengthened its leading position in the area of internationalization.
Euromoney is a globally well-known high-end monthly financial publication issued in nearly 150 countries with about 160 thousand institutional subscribers, including government agencies, international large-scale banks, multinational enterprises and consortiums and institutional investors. According to the reader statistics of global monthly financial publications, Euromoney ranks the top for its readership rate of 34%.
The magazine sponsors the appraisal and selection of the Best Bank of the Year by comparing banks' business highlights and financial performance in the past year and the characteristics in the product development and customer service. The Best Bank of the Year in Country/Region will be awarded to banks with the most outstanding comprehensive performance.
