From October 1 of this year, the currency exchange charge of overseas consumption with all the Platinum cards, Infinite cards, Great Wall American Express Cards and other credit cards issued by Bank of China (BOC) will be cancelled. This is a further preferential policy adopted by BOC after the preferential policy on currency exchange charge of overseas consumption with Great Wall Globe-in-One Credit Cards and International Chip Cards.
When cardholders conduct overseas consumption with the cards, the currency exchange will usually be charged an exchange fee of 1%-2% of the total consumption amount. This year the cancellation of currency exchange fee for several credit cards launched by BOC will lower the cost of overseas consumption for the cardholders.
Furthermore, the preferential policy for cross-border payment covering the countries and regions of main outbound destinations launched in May of this year will continue till February of 2014. During this period, cardholders who conduct consumption in areas such as Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, the US, Canada, Europe, Australia, Japan, Korea and Singapore will enjoy preferences such as cash back, tour group fee reduction, plane tickets discount and merchant dicount. The preferences of paying back and discount are also launched especially for the online "overseas purchasing group" on famous overseas shopping websites.
