Lately, Bank of China once again received the "Corporate Governance Excellence Awards" in the year 2013 jointly sponsored by the Hong Kong Listed Companies Chamber of Commerce and the Hong Kong Baptist University.
"Corporate Governance Excellence Awards" is one of the most prestigious awards in respect of corporate governance in Hong Kong, and has been staged since 2007 on an annual basis. It focuses on three aspects of listed companies in the past three years, namely, innovative measures on corporate governance, pursuit of the supreme principle of corporate governance, and positive impact of corporate governance on business development. This year saw five winners of the awards which are firms engaged in banking, real estate development and management, energy supply and transportation equipment manufacturing, respectively.
In recent years, BOC has continuously optimized its corporate governance mechanism, and achieved positive results in decision making by the board of directors, optimization of stakeholder relations, and enhancement of governance of the group.
