On August 1, Ge Haijiao, Chairman of Bank of China Limited, met with Dr. Andrew Forrest, the Executive Chairman of Fortescue Ltd, at the Bank’s Head Office in Beijing. They discussed further cooperation opportunities in areas including promoting the internationalization of RMB and building a green steel industry chain. Wu Jian, Executive Vice President of Bank of China Limited, also attended the meeting.
Both sides agreed to work more closely on RMB bonds, cross-border RMB use, and project financing, thereby contributing more to the green and low-carbon transition as well as higher-quality China-Australia cooperation on trade and investment.
