
On December 5, Ge Haijiao, Chairman of Bank of China Limited, met with Jean Lemierre, Chairman of BNP Paribas, at the Bank’s Head Office in Beijing. They discussed expanding cooperation in areas including bond issuance and custody services, and enhancing support for economic and trade ties between China and France. Liu Chenggang, Executive Vice President of Bank of China Limited, also attended the meeting.
Both sides agreed to work together to put into action the consensus reached by the two heads of state, capitalize on the opportunities that will follow, and enhance coordination in their capacity as co-chair of the China-France Business Council, setting an example of partnership between financial institutions in the two countries and helping move the wider China-France cooperation to the next and brighter chapter.
