
On January 13, Ge Haijiao, Chairman of Bank of China Limited, met with Timothy Geithner, Former U.S. Treasury Secretary and Chairman of Warburg Pincus, at the Bank’s Head Office in Beijing. They discussed opportunities to expand cooperation in areas including M&A financing, serving Chinese enterprises’ overseas investment, and expanding the international use of RMB. Yang Jun, Executive Vice President of Bank of China Limited, also attended the meeting.
Both sides highlighted China’s growing economic resilience and positive prospects for foreign investment, and noted that by leveraging their respective strengths and working closely together across a wide range of sectors, they have set a strong example for China-US financial cooperation over the years. Both parties agreed to enhance engagement in support of deeper bilateral economic and trade ties.
