On January 19, Ge Haijiao, Chairman of Bank of China Limited, met with Peter Wilson CMG, British Ambassador to People’s Republic of China, at the Bank’s Head Office in Beijing. They discussed opportunities to expand the international use of RMB, enhance collaboration on green finance, and support Chinese enterprises "going global".
Both parties highlighted financial services as a pillar of China-UK cooperation, with London playing an important role as a global financial centre, and agreed to follow through on the outcomes of the China-UK Economic and Financial Dialogue (EFD), promote deeper and pragmatic cooperation on multiple fronts, and contribute more substantially to the healthy and steady development of bilateral relations.
