On May 18, Ge Haijiao, Chairman of Bank of China Limited, met with Sir Mark Tucker, Chairman of AIA Group, at the Bank’s Head Office in Beijing. The two sides exchanged views on macroeconomic conditions in China and around the world, and discussed cooperation opportunities in bancassurance, asset custody, as well as in specific markets including Hong Kong and Southeast Asia. Huang Xueling, Executive Vice President of Bank of China Limited, and Lee Yuan Siong, AIA Group Chief Executive and President, also attended the meeting.
Both parties agreed to work more closely and in a wider range of areas going forward, leveraging their respective strengths across different markets and business sectors. They aimed to build a new benchmark for bank-insurance partnership in China and across the broader Asia-Pacific region.
