On June 15, Ge Haijiao, Chairman of Bank of China Limited, met with Christopher Hayward, Chairman of the Policy and Resources Committee of the City of London, at the Bank’s Head Office in Beijing. The two sides held in-depth discussions on advancing the international use of RMB and the development of London’s offshore RMB market, deepening cooperation in green finance and sustainable development, and providing comprehensive support for the cross-border operations of Chinese and British enterprises. Huang Xueling, Executive Vice President of Bank of China Limited, also attended the meeting.
Both sides agreed to work more closely together going forward and set a benchmark for China-UK financial cooperation. They will also maintain close coordination in preparation for the upcoming 12th China-UK Economic and Financial Dialogue, contributing to the development of a long-term and stable comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.
