BOC Compass integrates the service capabilities of various platforms, supporting a multilingual interactive experience with interfaces in eight languages — Chinese, English, Japanese, Korean, French, Spanish, Russian, and Arabic. BOC Compass supports registration with overseas email addresses and offers a visitor’s mode, allowing access to functions like maps, translations, and booking for trains, flights, hotels, and tourist attraction tickets, all without logging in.

2. Shopping Assistant

BOC Compass provides shopping and tax refund guides, allowing users to view recommendations for the most popular products in major cities across various categories, including electronics, beauty and apparel, as well as cultural and creative products.

It also displays information on local departure tax refund stores and details the latest tax refund policies, including procedures and conditions. After shopping at a designated tax refund store, customers can apply for their departure tax refund directly online through the BOC Compass, creating a seamless and convenient shopping experience in China.

3. Dining Concierge

BOC Compass offers a smart dining reservation service, available in 13 languages, including English, Japanese, Korean, French, Spanish, and Russian. It provides recommendations and navigation to specialty restaurants across China and supports advance table bookings. International users can use the menu translation service to order food.

4. Barrier-free Travel

BOC Compass provides services, including ride-hailing, train and flight ticket booking, English maps, and AR real-scene navigation to help foreign nationals travel smoothly in China.

5. Overcoming Communications Barriers

BOC Compass offers translation services in 31 languages, including English, Japanese, Korean, French, Spanish, Russian, and German, and supports various usage scenarios.

Voice translation enables real-time conversational translations for face-to-face communications. Text translation supports the download of offline translation packages for use without an internet connection. Image translation allows photo-based recognition and translations of road signs, menus, documents, and more.

6. Financial Assistant

BOC Compass provides an online account opening appointment service and collects the required information in advance to solve language communication issues during the form-filling process, reducing waiting time at BOC branches and improving the overall efficiency of services.

It also offers an in-app financial map service to quickly locate nearby BOC branches, ATMs, self-service foreign currency exchange machines, as well as foreign currency exchange agencies and departure tax refund points.
