Logo and Identity of Bank of China

Driven by the pursuit of excellence and a global perspective, Bank of China has always exuded a unique brand charm.

Established in 1912, it stands as the only bank in China to have operated continuously for more than a century.

BOC was the first Chinese enterprise to be listed in the Fortune Global 500 and the first financial institution from an emerging economy to be designated as a global systemically important bank.

As China's most internationalized bank, its network extends to 64 countries and regions worldwide beyond the Chinese mainland.

In the 1950s, the renowned Chinese writer, historian and calligrapher Guo Moruo inscribed the bank's name, which has been used ever since.

In 1986, BOC launched its corporate logo globally, becoming the first bank on the Chinese mainland to introduce a brand identity.

The logo’s ancient coin shape symbolizes its banking nature, the Chinese character Zhong (China) at the center represents its roots in China, and the circular outer design signifies BOC’s status as a global enterprise with an international vision.
