Journey with National Treasures — BOC's Partnership with National Museum of China

The National Museum of China (NMC) stands as the country's premier institution for the collection, research, exhibition, and indeed the interpretation of representative artifacts of Chinese civilization.

Its overarching mission is to preserve the nation's collective memory, transmit cultural heritage, and promote exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations.

With an area spanning nearly 200,000 square meters, it is the largest single-building museum in the world in terms of floor space. The museum houses over 1.43 million artifacts — showcasing the continuity and brilliance of over 5,000 years of Chinese civilization.

In 2024, Bank of China and the NMC signed a strategic cooperation agreement to jointly carry Chinese cultural legacy forwards.

BOC exclusively sponsored an NMC exhibition featuring classic Red relics from the museum’s collection, which opened on Sept 29, 2024.

In November of that year, BOC offered financial support for three exquisite cultural and art exhibitions hosted by the museum from Greece, Italy and Russia.

On Sept 9, an exhibition commemorating the 80th anniversary of victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression (1931-45) and the World Anti-Fascist War opened at the NMC, sponsored by BOC.

The exhibition featured over 300 artifacts and more than 400 photographs to commemorate the invaluable assistance and support provided by peace-loving and justice-loving countries and international organizations to the Chinese people in the war against aggression.
