Bank of China Insurance Company Limited, established on Jan 5, 2005, is headquartered in Beijing. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of Bank of China and the first domestic property insurance company affiliated with a bank. The company has a registered capital of about 4.54 billion yuan ($642.08 million) and operates more than 150 branches across 27 major provinces, cities and autonomous regions in China.

BOC Insurance, leveraging the global and integrated strengths of Bank of China Group, adheres to the principles of serving the people and the nation, aiming to become a trustworthy property insurance provider. In 2024, the company achieved a net profit of 344.05 million yuan and total assets valued at 13.42 billion yuan, with a comprehensive solvency adequacy ratio of 428.29 percent. BOC Insurance consistently delivers value to clients, shareholders and employees through a prudent operational strategy, standardized internal management, robust solvency, and a strong shareholder foundation. As of the first quarter of 2025, it had maintained an “A-” rating from S&P Global Ratings for 11 consecutive years with a “stable” outlook, and the highest AAA rating for internal rate of return (IRR).

Main Business

The company's business offerings include property loss insurance, liability insurance, credit and guarantee insurance, short-term health and accident insurance, reinsurance for the aforementioned businesses, utilization of insurance funds as permitted by national laws and regulations, other businesses approved by the China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission (today’s National Financial Regulatory Administration), and acting as a concurrent-business insurance agency.
