Introduction to BOC's Postdoctoral Research Station

Since its inception in 2006, the Bank of China Postdoctoral Research Station (the Station) has trained a total of 74 postdoctoral researchers, with 64 completing their tenure and 10 still in residence. During their tenure, postdoctoral researchers have published over 300 research papers and completed 25 research projects funded by the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation.

BOC adheres to the principle of "open recruitment, rigorous examination, and merit-based selection" in recruiting postdoctoral researchers. Candidates primarily come from the world's top universities, including Peking University, Renmin University of China, Nankai University, Wuhan University, Zhejiang University, the University of London, and the University of Manchester etc.

Currently, the joint training programs for postdoctoral researchers are becoming increasingly diversified, with collaborations with universities such as Peking University and Renmin University of China. During their tenure, postdoctoral researchers are guided by both internal and external academic mentors and actively engage in research on global economics, macroeconomics, international finance, Chinese finance, banking development, and BOC's strategic development.

Upon completing their tenure, postdoctoral researchers pursue careers in various departments within BOC — such as the Research Institute, Board Office, Human Resources Department, and Global Layout and Development Department — as well as in external institutions including the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the People's Bank of China, Renmin University of China, and Zhengzhou Commodity Exchange and other well-known research institutions. These postdoctoral researchers gradually become key personnel in their respective organizations, with their professional expertise and work performance highly regarded by their employers.
