BOC Entries Win Five International Awards

All five of Bank of China's entries — based on business scenarios in the financial market — won awards at a competition on financial quantitative innovation held by the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG).

The five award-winning entries — including two “Best Application Innovation Award”, one “Best Quantitative Co-construction Award” and two “Outstanding Strategy Award”— further highlight the achievements and effectiveness of BOC in the field of quantitative innovation in the financial market.

The LSEG is one of the world's leading providers of financial market infrastructure and data. Themed “Explore new opportunities for quantitative investment in foreign exchange, fixed income and precious metals”, the competition attracted 14 Chinese and international banking institutions to submit over 30 entries in multiple asset classes — attracting widespread attention in the domestic financial industry.

BOC's entries primarily focused on technologies — such as electronic trading algorithms, data science, machine learning and artificial intelligence — for use in the field of financial markets, like foreign exchange and precious metals. These quantitative innovation explorations not only help to build a leading domestic trading strategy and execution system suitable for the financial market, but also further enhance market analysis capabilities, optimize customer quotation levels, and strengthen risk management efficiency.

BOC has long upheld the principles of integrity and innovation, steadily advancing the development of digital finance. It has introduced multiple automated market-making quotes and corresponding risk control measures in the interbank market, developed self-researched applications for core quantitative functions and infrastructure, and published several quantitative research findings in leading domestic academic journals. The bank has conducted forward-thinking explorations in areas such as theoretical research on quantitative methods and the application of quantitative technologies. Looking ahead, BOC will firmly embrace digital transformation trends, with the fundamental goal of serving the real economy, and continue to provide clients with high-quality financial market products and services.
